Catchy, clever, and LOUD--these three words are the epitome of The Material. This 5-piece, female-fronted rock ensemble is guaranteed to be all over your radio within a year tops! Their unique blend of alternative, post-punk and super poppy female vocals are exactly what will define the sound of rock to come.
The quintet hails from sunny San Diego, California. Colleen D'Agostino (vocals) moved to San Diego to pursue a music degree. In her third year at San Diego State University, she began playing with Jon Moreaux (guitar) and Noah Vowles (drums). The threesome added bassist Kevin Falk, formerly of Every Time I Die and Between the Buried and Me, and started writing songs for their first demo. Kevin was replaced by Brian Miller (bass), and Roi Elam (guitar) joined shortly after. With the permanent line up, The Material went into the studio to record their 6-song debut EP "Tomorrow", which was co-produced by Brian Grider and was released 9/1/2007.
Now with a CD to market and sell, The Material is making plans to travel and make a name for themselves. Their live shows are an intensely good time; moreover, they bring audiences back time and time again.
It won't be long before this group ignites a buzz that labels can't ignore and invades all forms of media--it will be impossible to not know them! Planet earth: get ready for The Material.
